Building a New Content Management System for MobileIron’s Website

2018

MobileIron

Visual Design/UI
Web Design

Background

This project was a complete overhaul of the previous marketing website and its CMS Drupal system. The team took a component-based approach to building the website's interface. Our goal was to enable the team to be more efficient in building and maintaining pages to keep up with the evolving product portfolio. The new design gives the website a modern look and makes the CMS a more efficient web-building tool.

My role

I was the UI Visual Designer for this project.

My responsibilities included:

  • Observation research and quantitative research

  • Create design components and page templates

  • High-fidelity mockups and prototypes for high-traffic pages utilizing existing marketing assets

  • Collaborate with product marketing, engineers, stakeholders, and content producers.

Our content management system was hard to use, and it was time-consuming to make any updates. Therefore, most of the pages were outdated and did not reflect the company's recent brand.

The Design Process

I created low-fidelity components and wireframes for high-traffic pages. These low-fidelity mockups were used by the development team to build the components in Drupal, our content management system.

Once the components were built by the development team in Drupal. I built 30+ pages using the updated components. I partnered with the Art Director, Product Marketing team and copywriter to ship the updated website.
